Understanding the Activity Tab

What happened in the past on this equipment? Find out in the Activity Tab!

How can it help you?

You can use the Activity Tab to see historical events for a particular piece of equipment. This gives your team a context for how the equipment got to where it is now. You can use past learnings from this information to help you maintain the equipment moving forward.

How does it work?

Each time an event occurs for a piece of equipment, it is logged as activity. You can get to the Activity Tab by clicking "Activity" on the Equipment Detail View.

Equipment Detail Page Activity Tab Access

On the alarm events, you can utilise Event Feedback to add, edit and delete comments. All events are kept in the Activity Tab so that you can go back and reference them.

Feature Notes

Purpose:

  • Event view to group related alarms and comments to a singular Event impacting an asset / equipment.

  • The grouping of multiple, related alarms and comments to an Event is intended to assist users / organisations to manage events impacting an asset through to completion instead of responding to individual alarms that may be related to the same issue.

  • Ideally the use of the Event View and Event Statuses should encourage users / organisations to work through an appropriate workflow to completion to complete the necessary data around an event and understand the cause and resolution of an Event.

  • This workflow should also help organise Event Impact data for users so it pertains to a single event rather than multiple alarms has the potential to skew data accuracy.

Event Generation and Prioritisation Rules

  • For assets / equipment with no previous alarm, a new event known as the Active Event is created upon the first alarm of any type. Currently includes:

    • AI Condition Advisory

    • AI Condition Alert

    • Measured Data RMS Alarm

    • Measured Data Threshold Alarm.

    • Future alarms could alarms generated via FitPower (condition change, state change), AI V3, Crest Factor etc

  • All subsequent alarms of any type and any comments related to the asset / equipment will be grouped under the Active Event until either:

    • A new alarm is ACKNOWLEDGED.

      • Acknowledgement of a new new alarm will elevate the new Acknowledged alarm to the Active Event position.

      • All new alarms generated after the new acknowledged alarm along with any comments made to the related asset / equipment will be grouped under the Active Event.

    • Or

    • An Event is CLOSED through the use of Alarm / Event Status updates.

      • All subsequent comments made to the related asset / equipment will continue to be grouped under the closed event until a Active Event occurs.

      • Upon the next new alarm after a Closed Event, the new alarm will become elevated to a Active Event.

When collapsed, the Comments List view relating to an alarm card will be replaced with a drop down indicators and the text "Select to view comments and alarm history." (see Image Event View 1.2)
