How to Adjust Alarm Thresholds

This article outlines how to adjust alarm thresholds, who this is recommended for, and the associated risks.

How can it help you?

If you would like the AI Condition Alarms to be more/less sensitive then you are able to adjust the value at which these alarms occur. This can be beneficial if you know that alarms are happening too early or too late on your equipment.

How does it work?

Alarm thresholds are the levels at which a yellow advisory or red alarm is triggered.

These thresholds can be modified on the AI Output condition chart by clicking the cog in the top right-hand corner, and selecting "Edit alarm threshold values" (see image).

The red and yellow slides can then be adjusted accordingly by clicking and dragging the arrows (see image).

Once you have adjusted the thresholds, hit the blue 'Save' button. If you decide you'd like to return to the default threshold set for that equipment, you can click 'Reset to default'.

Alarm Thresholds Reset to Default

However, please note that we recommend this for advanced users only and that most users keep the default settings. This option simply exists for those who have a justified desire or need for change.

Setting the threshold too low may result in over alarming, and setting the threshold too high might result in missed alarms or equipment failures. If you decide to opt-out of default settings, it is your responsibility to ensure you place the alarm thresholds correctly.

When deciding where to place the alarm thresholds, it is thus vital that at least a few months of equipment running history is considered to make an informed choice.

If you choose to adjust these thresholds, we will log your name and the time you chose to opt-out of default settings, and this will be visible throughout the Dashboard.
